Logic Is Not Optional — It Is the First Casualty of Deception

In my previous two articles—especially the one about Darwin—I did more than speak out against deception. I ran a live test of logic in real time, and the failure was staggering. Go back and read the comments. Most of the people who reacted never read the article at all. They glanced at the heading, filled in the blanks with their own assumptions, and then attacked me for points that were clearly addressed and answered in the text itself. Logic did not merely struggle here—it failed outright.

Social media makes this worse. The need to be seen, heard, and noticed is now so strong that logic collapses completely. People comment not to understand, but to perform. They display, without shame, their inability to read, follow an argument, or grasp basic logic—yet still speak with absolute confidence.

Most people think logic is something for academics. Philosophers. Debaters. People who enjoy abstract arguments. Something optional. Something you can take or leave depending on personality or interest.

That belief is one of the most dangerous lies of the modern age.

Logic is not a luxury.

Logic is not a preference.

Logic is not a Western invention.

Logic is the discipline of thinking in line with reality itself. And when logic fails, so does truth. When truth collapses, meaning follows. When meaning is gone, deception no longer needs to hide—it becomes the default.

This is why logic is always the first casualty in times of widespread deception.

A society does not fall apart because it lacks information. We are drowning in information. It collapses because it no longer knows how to think. When people lose the ability—or the willingness—to reason, they become easy to control. My previous articles provided a clear example of this, not just in theory, but in practice.

In those articles—especially the one on Darwin—I did more than point out deception. I deliberately employed well-established psychological testing procedures to observe how people respond when logic is removed and emotion is triggered.

Here is how the test worked.

The introductory posts I placed on Facebook were intentionally stripped of the deeper analysis and supporting facts. Those details appeared only in the full articles. This was not an oversight; it was a controlled setup. Within the introductions, I embedded small but deliberate cues—phrases designed to provoke an emotional reaction in readers who did not engage with the full argument.

This approach mirrors standard cognitive and behavioural testing methods, where controlled stimuli are used to distinguish between reasoned response and impulsive reaction.

The variable was simple and measurable: did the reader process the full argument, or did they react to a headline and a handful of emotionally charged signals?

The outcome was immediate and consistent. Those who read the article responded to the logic, whether they agreed with me or not. Those who did not read it exposed themselves just as clearly. They attacked positions I never held, accused me of claims I had explicitly rejected, and argued against facts already addressed in detail. Many did so openly, without hesitation or embarrassment, displaying a complete inability to follow basic reasoning.

This is not an insult to the lack of intellect. It is an observation.

In any legitimate experiment, when a behavioural pattern repeats reliably across a large sample, it confirms the hypothesis. The hypothesis here was straightforward: remove logic, introduce emotional triggers, and most people will respond without understanding. The results confirmed it.

Truth requires logic.
Lies require confusion.
Confusion requires noise—enough of it to drown facts in emotion.

Social media provides the perfect environment for this failure. The need to be seen, heard, and affirmed is so strong that comprehension becomes irrelevant. People do not comment to understand; they comment to perform. In doing so, they publicly display their inability to read, think, or reason—without shame.

And that is precisely how deception spreads.

Modern culture resents this.

And anyone can now see exactly what that resentment looks like by simply reading through the comments on those posts. The reactions of those who failed the test follow a predictable pattern. The first response is never engagement with truth. It is noise. Lots of it. Insults, mockery, accusations, deflections—everything but honest reasoning. The goal is not to refute the argument, but to drown it. To overwhelm substance with volume.

What follows is performance. A desperate attempt to appear intelligent. Long-winded replies, borrowed phrases, shallow appeals to authority, and emotional outbursts dressed up as insight. Everything is thrown at the problem in an effort to signal superiority and prove personal greatness. Yet not one of these reactions addresses the actual logic laid out in the article they never read.

That alone exposes the issue.

But there is something deeper that becomes equally clear. Every one of these responses, in one form or another, rejects God as the ultimate authority. Some do it openly. Others do it subtly. Some replace Him with science. Others with intellect. Others with personal feeling, consensus, or moral fashion. But the move is always the same: God is removed as the final reference point, and man takes His place.

Once that happens, logic no longer has an anchor. Truth becomes negotiable. Meaning becomes subjective. And reality is no longer something to be understood, but something to be reshaped to protect the ego.

This is not accidental. When God is rejected as the source of order, coherence collapses. And when coherence collapses, deception thrives.

That is why logic matters.
That is why faith requires it.
And that is why the reaction to truth is so often louder than the truth itself.

We now live in a time where feelings outrank facts, sincerity outranks accuracy, and personal experience outranks objective reality. In such a climate, logic becomes an obstacle.

Because logic asks uncomfortable questions.

Is this true?

Does this follow?

Can both of these claims be correct at the same time?

What are the implications if this is accepted?

Those questions expose contradictions. And contradictions expose lies.

This is why logic is quietly undermined. Not openly attacked, but subtly dismissed. People are told that logic is cold, rigid, unloving, or oppressive. That it lacks compassion. That it reduces complexity. That it “invalidates lived experience.”

Those accusations sound moral, but they are strategic.

If logic is removed, anything can be asserted. If contradictions are allowed, truth loses meaning. If reasoning is replaced with emotion, power fills the gap.

And power loves a population that cannot think clearly.

One of the clearest signs that logic has been abandoned is the celebration of contradiction. People now proudly hold mutually exclusive beliefs without noticing the conflict. They demand consistency from others while excusing incoherence in themselves.

This is not intellectual progress. It is cognitive collapse.

Logic simply states that something cannot be true and false in the same sense at the same time. That is not cruelty. That is sanity. Without that principle, language becomes meaningless. Communication collapses. And manipulation becomes effortless.

This is why modern discourse feels so chaotic. Arguments do not resolve. Debates do not clarify. Positions shift mid-sentence. Definitions are avoided. And outrage replaces reasoning.

The goal is no longer to understand, but to dominate.

Logic is dangerous to deception because it slows things down. It forces clarity. It demands definitions. It exposes sleight of hand. It refuses to let emotion replace evidence.

That is why logic is portrayed as heartless.

But truth is not heartless. Lies are.

A lie must always silence logic to survive. Because logic traces consequences. It follows claims to their conclusions. And falsehoods cannot survive that journey.

This is why logic is never removed alone. It is always accompanied by the erosion of language. Words are redefined. Meanings are blurred. Terms are weaponised. Once language loses stability, logic cannot function.

And once logic cannot function, truth cannot be defended.

We are watching this happen in real time.

People now argue without defining terms. They demand agreement without explanation. They label questions as harm. They treat clarity as aggression.

That is not accidental.

If definitions are fixed, lies are exposed. If definitions are fluid, power decides meaning.

Logic insists that words mean something. Deception insists they don’t.

The Bible repeatedly warns against confusion, falsehood, and double-mindedness. Not because God dislikes questions, but because He hates disorder. Confusion is not neutral. It weakens discernment and invites deception.

This is why Scripture consistently connects wisdom with understanding. Not mystical insight divorced from reason, but clarity rooted in truth.

Faith without thinking becomes superstition. Thinking without faith becomes pride. Both lead to error.

Logic is the bridge between belief and understanding.

Modern Christianity often avoids logic out of fear. Fear of appearing intellectual. Fear of offending emotions. Fear of losing relevance. And in doing so, it leaves believers defenceless.

A believer who cannot reason cannot discern. And a believer who cannot discern is easily misled.

This is why many churches focus almost exclusively on experience. Feelings are emphasised. Atmosphere is curated. Emotion is stirred. But reasoning is neglected.

Emotion is powerful. But it is also unstable.

Logic grounds faith. It prevents drift. It guards against manipulation. It allows believers to recognise when something “sounds spiritual” but is actually false.

Deception rarely announces itself as falsehood. It presents itself as truth with a twist. Logic is what spots the twist.

This is why logical fallacies flourish in modern discourse. Straw men. False dilemmas. Circular reasoning. Appeals to emotion. They are not signs of ignorance. They are tools.

Once people no longer recognise fallacies, they cannot protect themselves from them.

And a population that cannot protect itself intellectually is ripe for control.

The rejection of logic is often framed as humility. “Who are we to say?” “Everyone has their truth.” “Reality is complex.” These statements sound wise, but they smuggle in a dangerous assumption: that clarity is arrogance.

But clarity is not arrogance. It is responsibility.

If something is true, it excludes its opposite. That is not intolerance. That is reality.

Logic does not create truth. It recognises it. It does not invent meaning. It preserves it.

This is why totalitarian systems always attack logic. Not directly, but by undermining education, redefining language, and elevating emotion. A population trained to react instead of reason is easy to steer.

We are seeing that play out everywhere.

People are encouraged to “feel” their way through moral questions. To trust intuition over analysis. To prioritise sincerity over coherence. And then we wonder why nothing makes sense anymore.

A society that abandons logic cannot solve problems. It can only react to them. And reaction without understanding always leads to escalation.

Logic also humbles the thinker. It forces consistency. You must live with the implications of your beliefs. You cannot pick and choose consequences. That is deeply uncomfortable in a culture built on preference.

This is why logic is labelled oppressive.

But oppression does not come from consistency. It comes from lies enforced without challenge.

Logic is not the enemy of compassion. It is its safeguard. Compassion detached from truth becomes cruelty. You can only genuinely help someone if you understand reality.

This is why the rejection of logic always leads to harm — even when intentions are good.

Good intentions do not override reality.

God created a world that can be understood. Not exhaustively, but truly. And He gave humans the capacity to reason because truth matters.

When logic is dismissed, truth becomes negotiable. And when truth is negotiable, power takes over.

This is not theoretical. It is historical.

Every culture that abandoned reason in favour of ideology eventually collapsed. Not because it lacked passion, but because it lost contact with reality.

Reality does not bend to feelings.

Reality does not submit to narratives.

Reality always wins.

Logic is simply the discipline of aligning our thinking with reality.

That is why it matters.

The question is not whether logic still works.

The question is whether we still value truth enough to use it.

Because the moment logic is gone, deception no longer needs to hide.

And when deception no longer hides, destruction follows quickly.

Logic is not optional.

It never was.

And any society that treats it as such has already chosen confusion over truth.
