And this now brings us to the moment where the war God declared in Genesis 3:15 becomes flesh — the moment when the invisible struggle between heaven and hell begins to live in human bodies. Up to this point it had been a spiritual conflict — a clash of will and authority between God and Satan — but in Genesis 6 that war enters the physical world. For the first time, Satan’s seed appears in visible form.

What these Watchers wanted was the dominion God had given to mankind. In Genesis 1:26 God says clearly: “Let them have dominion over the earth.” Not angels — humans. That is why these beings could not rule the earth unless they gained legal access to the human bloodline. They had to persuade humans to open the door themselves — exactly as Satan had done in Eden with Eve.

And that is exactly what happened. The Book of Jubilees (4:15; 7:21) says they offered knowledge in exchange for the hands of women. They seduced the fathers with secrets of metalworking, weapons, jewellery, magical formulas, and knowledge of the stars — gifts that looked like wisdom and progress, but brought destruction. They did not take the women by force, as many claim today — read the ancient writings and you will see. If they had acted against the women’s will, Satan’s plan would have collapsed immediately, because the union would not have been legal. Satan always works through consent — through persuasion — never without permission.

They gave mankind knowledge God never intended for human hands. That is why Scripture repeatedly warns against “hidden wisdom” and knowledge that comes from the wrong source. Everything not given by God carries corruption in its seed. It looks like power at first, but it ultimately brings destruction upon those who use it.

These marriages were therefore not romantic unions — they were strategic alliances. They understood that lawful unions determine the right of rulership. If their children were legally born, they could claim the earth as heirs of both realms — the spiritual and the physical. That is why this act was so serious: it was not merely sexual sin, but a genetic and juridical takeover of authority.

Satan, of course, had a deeper motive. The Watchers only understood the short game — they wanted sons who could rule as kings to establish their own authority on earth. But Satan saw the long game. He knew that God had made a promise in Genesis 3:15: that the “seed of the woman” would crush his head. If he could corrupt the bloodline from which Christ would come, that prophecy could never be fulfilled. If the seed of the woman were defiled, the Redeemer could never be born.

And so it happened: the seed war declared in Eden now became flesh. With it, the human bloodline split in two — the pure Adamic line that carried the image of God, and a new line contaminated with the seed of rebellion. Satan’s seed had gained a body.

The consequences of these unions quickly became visible. Genesis 6:4 states simply:

“There were giants (Nephilim) in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them.”

The Hebrew word Nephilim comes from naphal — “to fall.” They were the fallen generation, the physical offspring of the fallen Watchers. The first children from these unholy unions were not ordinary beings — they were half-spirit, half-flesh. The Book of Enoch (7:2–6) describes them as enormous:

“The women became pregnant and bore great giants, whose height was three hundred cubits, who consumed all the acquisitions of men.”

These three hundred cubits (about 140 metres) point to the grotesque nature of the first hybrids — the original generation directly from the union of angel and human. Their later descendants were much smaller, but still far beyond normal human size. These were later known as the Nephilim — the giants, the “mighty men of old, men of renown” (Genesis 6:4).

They were strong, intelligent, and merciless — beings of flesh carrying heavenly knowledge, but without the Spirit of God. They taught mankind warfare, sorcery, and technology. Enoch 8:1–3 states it clearly:

“Azazel taught men to make weapons; Armaros taught enchantments; Barakel taught the signs of the stars; and Kokabel the constellations of heaven.”

But the corruption did not stop with mankind. Jubilees 5:2–4 says that “the angels of God descended, and what they did to men, they also did to the animals and the earth.” And Enoch 7:5 adds:

“They began to defile the birds, the beasts, the creeping things, the fish, and everything that moves upon the earth.”

In other words, genetic corruption spread across the entire creation. What began as a violation between heavenly and human boundaries spilled over into animals, plants, and even the seed of the earth itself. That is why Genesis 6:12 says:

“And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.”

Each Watcher, according to Enoch 6:6, took one woman for himself — two hundred in total — and they all produced offspring. But some went even further. Some attempted to create their own beings by mixing bloodlines and species. This act of genetic rebellion later became the source of many mythical creatures described in ancient texts — half-man, half-beast — not imagination, but remnants of a world infected by corruption.

Today this sounds like myth to most people — something the church rarely addresses — but the Bible itself says: “All flesh had corrupted its way.” Not just humanity.

This detail is crucial, because we will return to it later — when we come to Noah and discover the meaning of that one line: “He was perfect in his generations” (Genesis 6:9). This does not mean only that he was righteous, but that his bloodline was still pure — untainted by the seed of the Watchers.

By this time the earth was no longer as God had created it. The seed of rebellion had taken root — literally. Plants changed, animals changed, and mankind began following the gods of knowledge and power.

These beings were the original tyrants — the true source of all the ancient world’s gods and hero legends. Every culture, east and west, tells the same story — just under different names. The Greeks called them Titans, semi-divine beings born of gods and humans. The Egyptians sang of them as the gods of the Nile and the heavens. The Sumerians called them Anunnaki — “those who came down from heaven.” In Mesopotamia, India, China, the Americas — wherever you look, you find the same pattern: beings of great power, larger than men, who descend, bring knowledge, build temples, and then subjugate humanity.

This is not coincidence — it is the same history told through different languages. The world remembers them as gods, but Scripture calls them what they truly were: the hybrid offspring of the Watchers.

And yet, ironically, it is only the modern church that remains blind to this. The pagan nations remembered the facts better than we did. They even carved them into stone — the winged giants, the “star gods” who brought fire from heaven, the kings who ruled the earth long before the flood. The evidence is everywhere: from Egyptian obelisks to Sumerian clay tablets, from Inca ruins to Chinese legendary dynasties.

But the church cut this truth out of her own history — because it does not fit refined theology. She decided it was safer to make the Bible symbolic than to admit that the world’s “myths” are actually memories of the literal events of Genesis 6.

And so the world remembered the truth — while the church forgot it.

When the earth’s cry reached heaven, God rose from His silence. The blood of the innocent cried out (cf. Genesis 4:10; 1 Enoch 7:6), and the earth itself pleaded for justice. And the Most High answered.

He summoned His angels of authority: Uriel, Raphael, Gabriel, and Michael (1 Enoch 10). The command went out through heaven, and the earth began to tremble.

To Raphael He gave the task of binding Azazel — the one who taught men to make weapons and shed blood. He was to cast him into the depths of Dudael, covered with rough stones and darkness until the day of judgement.

To Gabriel He commanded to rise up against the giants — the children of the Watchers — the first generation. They were to turn against one another so that they would shed their own blood. The earth, God said, could no longer bear them (1 Enoch 10:9–10).

And to Michael He gave the task of binding Semjaza and his companions — but first they had to watch their beloved sons destroy one another (1 Enoch 10:11–14). They were forced to see the fruit of their sin die by each other’s hands. This is God’s justice: that each one must witness the full consequences of his own rebellion before judgement is carried out.

And so it happened. Their giant sons, three hundred cubits tall, tore one another apart. The mountains shook, the ground ran red with blood, and the air was heavy with smoke. The mighty ones of old — the kings of the pre-flood world — annihilated one another until not one of that first generation remained.

Then God gave His final command: bind them all, bury them beneath the mountains, and let them remain there until the day of the great judgement (cf. Jude 1:6; 2 Peter 2:4). The light of the Watchers dimmed, their voices fell silent, and heaven saw that God is not mocked.

But although the original giants were destroyed, their descendants continued to exist — smaller, but still corrupt, still carrying the same seed of Satan. They survived through the ages, spread through human bloodlines, and their influence moved like poison through the earth.

And so this finally brings us to the sixth generation after Enoch — to his own grandson, Noah.

The last pure line of Adam, a man who “was righteous in his generations,” a man who still lived by God’s Spirit in a world where “all flesh had corrupted its way.”

Here begins the next chapter — the judgement of the Flood, and the truth about why God had to cleanse not only mankind, but the entire creation, in order to protect the line of the Redeemer.
