How Modern Education Corrupts Children by Design

I want to start by saying something plainly, even if it makes people uncomfortable: the modern education system is not failing our children by accident. It is doing exactly what it was designed to do. The problem is that most parents still believe the lie that schools exist to educate. They don’t. Not anymore. They exist to shape, to condition, and to replace truth with an approved narrative. And once you see it, you cannot unsee it.

For generations, parents have been told to trust the system. Hand your children over for eight hours a day. Let strangers define what is “normal,” what is “scientific,” what is “progress,” and what is “backward.” And above all, don’t interfere. Don’t question. Don’t challenge the curriculum. After all, these are “experts.”

But here is the truth few are willing to face: no education system is neutral. Every curriculum is built on a worldview. Every textbook preaches something. The only question is whose gospel your child is being discipled into.

Modern secular education does not merely remove God. It replaces Him.

This is not a small shift. This is not a side issue. This is the most aggressive form of spiritual warfare our children have ever faced—because it does not come dressed as evil. It comes dressed as knowledge, compassion, tolerance, and progress. And parents applaud while their children are quietly unrooted from reality.

Let’s be honest: if a school openly taught Satanism, most parents would pull their children out immediately. But if the same school teaches that life has no Creator, morality is self-defined, humans are just advanced animals, and truth is relative—most parents shrug and say, “That’s just education.”

No, it’s not. It’s indoctrination.

From the moment a child enters the modern classroom, they are immersed in a worldview that denies God as Creator, denies man as fallen, denies sin as real, and denies truth as fixed. Evolution is not presented as a theory to be examined; it is presented as settled fact. Human identity is no longer grounded in biology or creation, but in feelings. History is rewritten through the lens of political grievance. And morality is reduced to personal preference, as long as it aligns with the approved ideology.

And all of this happens long before a child is old enough to think critically.

That is not education. That is grooming.

The most dangerous lie ever sold to parents is that schools merely teach facts. Facts do not exist in a vacuum. Facts are always interpreted through a framework. And when the framework is godless, the outcome is predictable: children are trained to see the world without God, without accountability, and without eternal consequence.

This is why secular textbooks are so powerful. Not because they scream their message, but because they whisper it every day, year after year, until it feels normal.

Take science textbooks, for example. Children are taught that the universe created itself. That life arose by chance. That order came from chaos. That complex information wrote itself. And they are expected to accept this not because it makes sense, but because it is “what science says.”

But real science is about observation, testing, and honesty. What is taught instead is a philosophical commitment to naturalism—the belief that nature is all there is, and therefore God must be excluded by definition. That is not science. That is ideology wearing a lab coat.

And once a child is taught that the universe has no Designer, everything else follows naturally. If there is no Creator, there is no purpose. If there is no purpose, there is no accountability. If there is no accountability, then morality becomes negotiable. And when morality is negotiable, anything can be justified.

This is why sexual confusion is now taught as virtue. This is why rebellion is praised as courage. This is why obedience is mocked as weakness. And this is why children are encouraged to distrust their parents while trusting the system without question.

What we are seeing today did not start with gender ideology or political activism. It started decades ago with the removal of God from education. Once God was expelled from the classroom, man stepped into the vacuum. And man, when left to himself, does not become enlightened—he becomes arrogant.

The Bible warned us about this long ago. When man rejects God, he does not become neutral; he becomes darkened in his understanding. He calls evil good and good evil. He boasts in wisdom while becoming fools. This is not poetic language. It is a precise diagnosis of what happens when truth is suppressed.

And suppression is exactly what modern education does. It does not allow open discussion about origins. Creation is mocked. Biblical history is dismissed. Any challenge to the dominant narrative is labeled “anti-science” or “dangerous.” Children quickly learn that asking the wrong questions comes at a cost.

So they stop asking.

This is one of the most destructive aspects of the system: it trains children to conform rather than think. Memorise the approved answers. Regurgitate them in exams. Repeat them in essays. And never challenge the foundation itself.

And parents wonder why their children come home hostile to faith.

Let me say this clearly: you cannot immerse a child in a godless worldview for twelve years and expect Sunday school to undo it in one hour a week. That is fantasy. It is spiritual negligence dressed as optimism.

The system understands this. That is why it targets children early. Because once a worldview is established, facts are filtered through it. By the time a child reaches adulthood, the idea of God feels foreign, unnecessary, or even offensive—not because it was disproved, but because it was never allowed to take root.

This is not new. Every totalitarian system in history understood the importance of controlling education. Control the children, and you control the future. The difference today is that it is done quietly, politely, and with parental consent.

Textbooks no longer simply present information. They frame reality. They tell children who they are, what matters, and what must be rejected. And when parents object, they are told they are “anti-progress” or “afraid of knowledge.”

But the issue is not knowledge. The issue is truth.

Truth is not merely information. Truth corresponds to reality. And when education disconnects children from reality, it does not liberate them—it destabilises them.

This is why we see anxiety, depression, identity confusion, and anger rising among young people. They have been taught that they are cosmic accidents living in a meaningless universe, expected to invent purpose while being told they have no fixed nature. That is not freedom. That is cruelty.

Children need foundations, not endless choices. They need truth, not constant affirmation of confusion. They need meaning rooted in something greater than themselves. And that is exactly what secular education strips away.

Parents often say, “But my child needs to succeed in the world.” I understand that fear. We all want our children to be equipped. But what does success mean if it costs them their soul? What does it help a child to gain academic credentials if they lose their ability to recognise truth?

The tragedy is that many Christian parents outsource discipleship to the very system that is discipling their children against God. And then they are shocked when their children walk away from faith.

This is not rebellion. It is consistency.

If you teach a child, day after day, that the Bible is irrelevant, that miracles are myths, that morality is subjective, and that humans are self-defining, you should not be surprised when they conclude that Christianity is unnecessary.

The system did its job.

The real question is why parents allowed it.

I am not saying education is evil. I am saying education divorced from truth is destructive. Learning how the world works is good. But learning why the world exists matters even more. Knowledge without wisdom is dangerous. Information without moral grounding is a weapon.

This is why the Bible places such emphasis on teaching children truth diligently, daily, intentionally. Not passively. Not occasionally. But as a way of life. Because whoever teaches your children shapes their future.

We have been naïve. We assumed the system was neutral because it smiled. We assumed authority meant wisdom. We assumed credentials meant truth. And now we are watching the fruit of those assumptions play out in real time.

The collapse of morality. The erosion of family. The rejection of reality. The worship of self. None of this is accidental. It is the logical outcome of an education system that has removed God and crowned man.

And here is the uncomfortable part: many churches helped this happen by retreating from the public square. Instead of confronting falsehood, they focused on being liked. Instead of teaching discernment, they taught niceness. Instead of equipping parents, they entertained children.

And now they wonder why the next generation is gone.

This is not a call to panic. It is a call to wake up.

Parents need to take responsibility again. Not just for what their children believe, but for who is shaping those beliefs. Asking hard questions is not rebellion. It is stewardship. Challenging curricula is not extremism. It is love.

Your child is not a blank slate. They are a soul entrusted to you. And you will give an account for how seriously you took that responsibility.

The modern education system will not save your child. It cannot, because it does not acknowledge the problem of sin. It cannot teach redemption because it denies the need for it. And it cannot offer hope because it has cut itself off from the source of hope.

Only truth sets free. And truth is not discovered by silencing God.

We are living in a time where the lines are being drawn clearly. Neutrality is gone. Either you actively disciple your children, or someone else will. And they will not do it in your child’s best interest.

This is not about withdrawing from the world. It is about engaging it with eyes open. It is about understanding that education is never just about information. It is about formation.

And right now, the formation being offered is producing confusion, despair, and rebellion—because it is built on a lie.

Parents need courage again. Not loud anger. Quiet resolve. The willingness to say, “This matters more than comfort.” The willingness to be misunderstood. The willingness to stand when others bow.

Because the cost of silence is far greater than the cost of resistance.

If we do nothing, the system will continue doing exactly what it was designed to do. And our children will pay the price.

The question is not whether the textbooks are shaping your child’s mind.

They are.

The question is whether you care enough to do something about it.
